Josh Johnson’s practice is primarily focused on construction law. He represents owners, contractors, subcontractors, architects and engineers in litigation and in all phases of residential and commercial construction projects. He has represented individuals, corporations, and governmental entities in a wide variety of federal and state court litigation and in administrative proceedings. Josh is the former Chairman of the Corporate and Commercial Litigation Section of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, and he is the former President of the Roanoke Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and the former Chairman of the Construction and Public Contracts Section of the Virginia Bar Association.

  • Representation and successful summary judgment for a commercial masonry contractor against a national construction manager

  • Representation of a public authority in a four-day trial regarding a highly publicized construction dispute
  • Co-representation of a major railway corporation in a five-day jury trial
  • Representation of a former bank president and CEO in a highly publicized federal indictment and subsequent proceedings
  • Representation of a mortgage broker charged with fraud in excess of $11 million in a highly publicized federal indictment and subsequent proceedings

While at the University of Virginia School of Law in 2004-2005, Josh associated with the Staunton Commonwealth Attorney’s office to represent the Commonwealth in criminal prosecutions.
